Emily has worked in senior living since 2004, with experience across home care, home health, geriatric care management, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. An award-winning administrator, she has a BA from the University of Washington, is a licensed administrator in Virginia, and is a certified Assisted Living manager in Maryland.
A Washington state native, Emily loves the diversity and green space around the nation’s capital. She balances her professional role with active involvement in her three children’s school and community activities. She also loves books, podcasts, and all things crafty— including baking, cooking, and cake decorating.
As The Seneca’s Community Life Director, Rosaleen ensures we deliver on our promise of a vibrant lifestyle every day. With a background in entertainment, creative event management, and digital marketing (as well as a special talent for balloon twisting), she excels at planning activities and building relationships, as well as managing diverse teams and projects.
Originally from Hanover, Pennsylvania, Rose studied at Reading Area Community College and Frederick Community College. She has lived in Maryland since 2013 and loves the region’s diverse and interesting population as well as the many cultural opportunities within just a few miles of The Seneca campus. Outside of work, she enjoys resetting her mind via multi-day bicycle trips on the rail trails.
Neneh knows hospitality. With a degree in travel and tourism management from MBO College Airport and a first job as a travel agent, the Sierra Leone native has a gift for getting the details right and ensuring clients feel taken care of. She brought this skillset to the senior living industry when she moved to the United States in 2016, and since then she has worked in a variety of caregiving roles.
She values the diversity of our community and thrives in a role where she can put her communication skills to work. Outside her role as our Assisted Living Director, Neneh enjoys outdoor adventures and spending time with her family.
Gabriel knows that a first-rate retirement community has first-rate amenities. As the Director of Plant Operations, he is in charge of all things upkeep and housekeeping, ensuring our residents enjoy a truly maintenance-free lifestyle.
Originally from Algiers (home of the Casbah), he appreciates all the opportunities for growth and multiculturalism in the D.C. area. Off-campus, he enjoys art and visiting any of the world’s shorelines.
When Karla comes to work every day, she brings the same care and attention to The Seneca’s residents as if they were her own family. Powered by her connection to her own grandmother, Karla serves as Dining Services Director, managing budgets, schedules, and more. All the while maintaining respect and dignity for our residents.
Karla has a culinary degree from L’Académie de Cuisine in Rockville, Maryland. She has been working with seniors for more than 25 years, and she joined The Seneca in 2023. When she is not scheduling staff or managing catering, she enjoys karaoke, dancing, reading about American history and visiting the Dominican Republic.
Originally from Nairobi, Cynthia appreciates being part of a retirement community where the entire team, from the caregivers to the maintenance crew, work together for the good of the residents. That makes her role as Move-In Coordinator easy because joining The Seneca is such a positive change for new residents.
Cynthia has a Bachelor of Public Health from National University as well as numerous certifications in the senior living field. Her industry experience began with her role as a caregiver in 2011 and has progressed to include coordinating resident services and Assisted Living. In her free time, she loves to cook, preserving her grandmother’s recipes for her family today.
